Submitting Masters for Audio Cassette Duplication
Please supply your material for duplication on an audio CD disc as follows:
Option 1: 2 Track CD
Each side of a cassette should be considered as one track. For example, you may have six songs on ‘Side A’, lasting 18 minutes in total and five songs on ‘Side B’ lasting 16 minutes. Therefore, ‘Side A’ should be provided as an 18 minute-long track (Track 1), and ‘Side B’ should be supplied as a 16 minute-long track (Track 2). Alternatively, you can provide two separate CDs for each side of the cassette, both CDs featuring one ‘Track’ each.
Option 2: Multiple Track CD
If your release has 3 or more songs on it, you can provide the music as a CD with multiple tracks, just like a standard audio CD release. However, our CD Master Loader will split the tracklist so that each side’s duration is as even as possible. As a result, the tracklist may be split across the two sides in a manner you didn’t intend. Therefore, attention should be given to the overall duration and sequence of the songs prior to manufacture (as a rule, ‘Side A’ tends to be longer than ‘Side B’).
NOTE 1: DO NOT SUBMIT A CD WITH 3 OR MORE TRACKS UNLESS YOU ARE HAPPY FOR THEM TO BE AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT INTO A/B SIDES.
NOTE 2: Add at least 1 second of silence (ideally 2-3) at the beginning AND end of each CD track. This will reduce the risk of losing audio material at the beginning and/or end of each side.
NOTE3: Please ensure your audio is free of excessive digital distortion, clipping and extreme low-to-low midrange saturation. Any distorted masters tend to get exaggerated by our process and too much low end can use up headroom, this results in a quieter cassette.
